Oberflachs, Switzerland, June 5, 2025 – Carrier Call Ltd., a leading provider of innovative cloud-based wholesale solutions, has significantly increased efficiency in wholesale voice traffic management in collaboration with Hutchison Drei Austria GmbH (www.drei.at). With the introduction of the cloud-based XCarrier platform, an outdated system has been successfully replaced by a future-oriented, highly automated solution that meets the highest standards of transparency, efficiency, and security.

XCarrier Cloud – Modernization of voice traffic management

Hutchison Drei Austria operates one of the most advanced 4G and 5G networks in Austria and, with over 4 million customers, is one of the country's leading telecommunications providers. In the wholesale sector, the challenge was to replace a voice management system that was no longer proactively maintained and to make operations more efficient and transparent with minimal personnel.

The choice fell on XCarrier Cloud from Carrier Call – a fully managed solution operated in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Within a very short time, all data was migrated, price lists and routing information were transferred to the new system, and existing interfaces were seamlessly integrated.

Automation and efficiency gains

Particular attention was paid to the automation of core processes – especially the implementation of Origin Based Rating (OBR) and the direct connection to the existing billing system. These steps led to a significant reduction in manual effort and improved process quality in adjacent departments as well.

This supports us immensely in our day-to-day operations,” says Christoph Wamprechtshammer, Wholesale Services Manager at Hutchison Drei.

Scalable cloud strategy for regulated markets

With XCarrier Cloud, Hutchison Drei now has a high-performance platform that meets the highest security and compliance requirements (including SOX compliance) and is available worldwide via a web browser. The solution supports the company's long-term digital strategy and provides an ideal basis for further automation steps in the wholesale sector.

The automated import of wholesale billing data from XCarrier into the existing billing system is currently being tested. Further digital transformation projects are already in the planning stage.
