A-number validation, automatic analysis for correct billing and provision of CDR data
- XValidate is an application of the XCarrier platform that validates, analyzes, detects incoming A-numbers (PAI) and marks them for rating.
- The XCarrier application monitors carrier CDRs automatically, continuously, and in near real-time. Recognized A-numbers are marked so that they can be processed correctly.
- Regulatory requirements are met with this XCarrier application.
Terms and Definitions
Invalid A-Number
Different sets of rules are available to check the A-numbers and define which numbers are valid, invalid, or whitelisted.
Atypical telephone behavior
Atypical telephone behavior is a collective term for various caller patterns, where the A-number is used abusively. Voice or telephone spoofing (also known as “voice phishing” – or “vishing” for short) is also included, where automated telephone calls are used in an attempt to deceive and mislead the callee and to obtain personal data and details.
Functions
Identification of invalid A-numbers
- A-numbers (PAI) are identified in the CDRs, checked for format and plausibility, length, and other specific parameters, and compared with databases of known phone numbers (both valid and invalid numbers).
- Depending on the area of application (country) and regulation, country-specific additional, external sources of information are dynamically available. If available, these are connected electronically via API and integrated into the processing logic.
- Additionally, manual entries can be made additively or complementarily at any time via the graphical user interface.
- Detected invalid A-numbers are identified and assigned the appropriate validate status.
- A prefix in the rating ensures the correct revalue to another destination, which ensures a corresponding (usually higher) billing.
- Marked CDRs with validate status can be easily exported and further processed and exchanged accordingly.
- Corresponding test sets and reference lists are used with different priorities that serve as a basis for specific actions, e.g.
- Letters or special characters
- Operator invalid list(s)
- Operator valid list(s)
- Global minimum/maximum number length
- International phone number validation
- National phone number validation
Data interfaces
- XValidate has an export interface that provides marked CDRs in a configurable format.
- CDR data is provided with the previously assigned status information.
- The data can be processed and sent manually or transmitted to another system via a defined interface (e.g. Secure Data Room).
- XReconCDR is an additional application that enables the synchronization of individual CDR data. Special attention must be paid to the HW capacity here.
